NPSF Invites Nation to Sign Pledge to Stand United on Patient Safety
With National Patient Safety Awareness Week just around the corner, the National Patient Safety Foundation is calling for healthcare professionals nationwide to sign an online pledge signifying their commitment to reading the foundation’s new Free from Harm report and discussing its findings with colleagues. In addition, the foundation is extending a similar opportunity to healthcare consumers who are being asked to sign a pledge indicating their intent to become more informed and more involved in their own health care and decision making.
The pledge is part of NPSF’s relaunch of a yearlong campaign, United for Patient Safety, aimed at reinforcing the fact that everyone in the healthcare system has a role to play in keeping patients safe and free from harm. To maximize the campaign’s impact, NPSF developed a new interactive website where people can take the pledge, share plans for Patient Safety Awareness Week and engage in relevant dialogue about patient safety issues.
