The Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality has developed a new survey focused on measuring the extent to which community pharmacies promote a culture of patient safety. After conducting a pilot pharmacy survey in 2012, the agency is making the Community Pharmacy Survey on Patient Safety Culture available to community pharmacies nationwide.
In addition, in order to facilitate a comparison of survey results, AHRQ is establishing the Community Pharmacy Survey on Patient Safety Culture Comparative Database which will serve as a central repository for survey data. Pharmacies submitting data to the Comparative Database will receive a customized report comparing their survey results to overall findings gathered across participating facilities. Community pharmacies that choose to administer the survey and want to submit their data for use in the Comparative Database will be able to do so September 15-November 1.
Pharmacies interested in conducting the Community Pharmacy Survey on Patient Safety Culture with their pharmacists, technicians and additional staff members can download the survey along with additional toolkit materials by clicking here.
