Maximizing SBAR in a World of New Processes and Technologies
At noon (CDT) on May 20, Doug Bonacum, Vice President, Quality & Safety, with Kaiser Permanente, will conduct a free one-hour online seminar regarding implementation of the SBAR communication technique that he is credited with adapting for use in the healthcare industry over 10 years ago.
Bonacum serves on the board of directors for the National Patient Safety Foundation and is a faculty member with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s Patient Safety Executive Program. In this webinar, he will illustrate how valuable the SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) method can be in fostering a culture of patient safety in a variety of healthcare settings and will discuss ways to incorporate SBAR into electronic communications including email and text.
