Nursing homes, which have administered the Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality’s nursing home safety culture survey, can now voluntarily submit their data to the agency’s comparative database. The data submission period began on April 1 and will remain open through April 21, 2014.
AHRQ established the Nursing Home Comparative Database as a central repository for information gathered through its Nursing Home Survey on Patient Safety Culture. The database is designed to produce comparative results that can help nursing homes across the country identify strengths as well as opportunities for improvement in patient safety culture. Information that would identify participating facilities is not included with reported results.
AHRQ lists the following criteria as requirements for data submission:
- Nursing homes must have licensed nursing home beds.
- Nursing homes must be located in the United States or territories of the U.S.
- Neither assisted living, community care nor independent living facilities are eligible to participate.
